Last Drag

This painting was inspired by a visit to Gould Inlet on St. Simon's Island in the early morning. A lone shrimp trawler was dragging its nets and heading straight toward me as I stood on the beach. I took a photograph of it and later in my studio I used it to depict a much more dramatic setting, a shrimp trawler making its last drag before a storm sets in.
